THE COMPUTER POLL
SATURDAY FOOTBALL / THE MANIFESTO

BRING BACK THE COMPUTERS.

College football used to let computers help settle the argument.

WE’RE BRINGING THEM BACK.

The Computer Poll knows nothing about preseason rankings, recruiting classes, television ratings or helmet logos.

It knows who you played. It knows where you played. It knows who won. And it knows how good those opponents turned out to be.

Every week, the computer recalculates the entire season from scratch. No reputation. No memory of August. Just the games.

ACCOMPLISHMENT, NOT EXPECTATION.

A team can be favored tomorrow while another team has earned a stronger résumé today. Both things can be true. Our job is to make the second argument using transparent rules that every fan can inspect.

We do not claim to have the definitive answer to who is the best team. We offer a reproducible answer to who has earned the strongest ranking from what has actually happened on the field.

THE COMPUTER RANKS. AI EXPLAINS.

The formula makes every ranking decision. AI can help tell the story afterward. It cannot add a point, move a team, or break a tie. If the AI is offline, the rankings still work.

Every team’s page shows the full score breakdown and the value of each game. You can download the inputs and do the math yourself. Disagree with a weight? Good. Now we can have a specific conversation.
